growin' on up!

What an eventful week it has been here at the Harding home! Macee keeps amazing us at how fast she is growing and changing everyday. We are quickly adding to her list of skills. All within a week, she cut her two bottom teeth. Finally. She got strong enough to sit! She sat for the first time while Ben was playing with her, and has only gotten better since.
Lastly, she has almost mastered crawling! Her little arms are still a little weak so she does a lot of flopping in between crawling, but she sure moves! Baby proofing has begun here at our house.I'm so proud of my little girl! She is one tough cookie.

By the way, the weather here is AMAZING! Macee and I love our walks.

sad little macee

Macee usually absolutely loves it when her daddy sings to her. This time around was a different story. It's too hilarious not to share. Don't mind that she aspirates water from her washcloth at the end. We really do care enough about her that we wouldn't let her choke.

(Blogger wouldn't let me upload the video since it is so long, so you'll have to enjoy it off of YouTube.)

utah getaway

Macee and I went on a little vacation to Utah this past week. Ben had to stay home for school and work. We missed him while we were gone, but still had such a great time seeing family.

Uncle Jordan was finally brave enough to hold Macee for...a minute. It didn't last long. Lunch with the girls! We're just missing Kellie. I do love these girls and love that they're still in my life. Macee "helping" grandpa build the house. More than anything, she wanted to suck on the germ infested tools and distract grandpa.Grandpa Ashdown had a lot of fun playing with Macee since she is a bit older.I spent most of my week with grandma in the hospital. I was pretty much an emotional wreck worrying about her. After a big scare, and thanks to many prayers, she is recovering well. Thanks to the Hardings for watching Macee so much while I was gone. I secretly don't think they minded it, but I'm still very grateful to them. Just before I went home I held my breath and brought Macee to the hospital to see grandma. It made her day! The whole Harding fam, minus Ben. They also loved seeing Macee.

We love our family and can't wait to see them all again in May! Why May do you ask? Oh, because Ben is GRADUATING in May!!!

6 months

Once again, I'm late updating on this cute girl of ours. She turned six months old on the 12th of this month! Time really does fly by and I am amazed everyday at how fast she has grown and how much I love her. We love that we see more and more of her personality everyday. At six months she is doing a lot of new, adventurous things!

Babbles...all day long. I think she knows when she is public because she is sure to make herself known by babbling and squealing as loud as she can.
She is rolling with ease! There is nothing that slows her down when she wants a toy anymore.
She is up on her hands and knees, rocking. Just this week she has started to take a few "steps" of crawling, which always lands in a seal flop towards her toys. She gets where she wants to go!
Also, just this week, Macee got her first tooth! Her bottom left tooth finally poked through. It felt like we were waiting for this moment for way too long.
When she is not trying to master crawling, she is bouncing up and down on our laps. Macee is going to have strong, beefy legs and I will have strong, beefy arms. Holding her for church is exhausting.
Macee has her favorite blanket. It goes everywhere with us and gets washed frequently. She will only fall asleep with this blanket anymore. We may run into problems with that.
Her smile and laugh is darling. She is ticklish on her tummy, sides, neck and feet. I love tickling her just to get a big laugh out of her. She loves to play and get that attention.
She is still such a happy girl waking up. I go into her room with her talking, not crying, every time she wakes up.
She likes oatmeal, and eats it about twice a day. So far, veggies have not been successful. I'm determined to succeed though.

This list could go on and on...
Macee is such a joy to have around our home. I can't remember life without her. She still loves her daddy and gets a thrill out of everything he does with her. She is such a little dare devil. I love watching her grow and develop right before my eyes. Her six month stats:
weight: 16 lbs 12 oz (75%)
height: 27 inches (90%)
head: 44 inches (75-90%)

"camping"

Last night Ben and I discovered the only way to camp with a baby...in the backyard. I have been getting the bug to go camping. Believe it or not, there are places to camp here in Arizona. The seasons are just different. I knew that I would probably regret the idea of camping after having to keep Macee happy while doing so. Ben surprised me and put our spare mattress in the backyard and borrowed a fire pit. We put Macee to bed then roasted hotdogs and ate s'mores, all while Macee was sleeping comfortably in her crib.We felt really lame when we were both ready to go to bed, but since we were outside we could still see that our old neighbors were still awake in their front room.Ben had to keep reminding me that Macee was only a few walls away. It was hard at first to accept that, but she was close by on her monitor. All in all, it was really fun!

Of course there can't be a post without sweet Macee. I love this girl's expressions. I can't get enough of them.
